A Day in the Life of Bobby

Like I really need to post this. If you have read any of the past blogs, this is pretty much all you read. However, I thought you might enjoy reading it from start to finish.

You probably have figured out from the other’s, but I am usually the last to get up in the morning. Before you think I am lazy, let me also tell you that I am often the last to go to sleep. My day starts about 7:45 when the kids come and jump on me and tell me to get up. I usually try to harass them in some way, usually by tickling them. After breakfast and a cup of coffee, I head upstairs to my office. My office is on the 3rd floor of our flat. I usually download all my email and try to respond. Sometimes I get a late nighter (like my sister on skype) and we chat for a while. When I am not returning email, I am doing my work. This you might find interesting. I have opened an office here in the name of Selah Tours. Selah Tours is a travel agency based in the United States. My job here it to promote tourism to this part of the world. Some of the things we are working on are: 1) adventure travel 2) vacation tours 3) vacation resorts 4) vacation safaris. I am working on building a portion of the website for Selah. This section will high light travel to this area. By the way, if you are ever in need of any travel (vacation, business, or whatever) consider booking through Selah. If you hit Selah’s website from my website and book one of the offers, I get a percentage of the profit.

Anyway, I am working on setting up deals with resorts, safari boats, local travel agencies and islanders. I love this part of my job because I am always meeting new people and my contacts here grow everyday. I usually have a lunch planned with a new friend or potential client. Lunch usually takes me to the main island which is a 30 minute boat ride, not counting the time it takes to get to the jetty and then walk to the lunch destination. Lunch usually lasts and hour or so and about 3 hours if you count my travel.

When I get home, I try to spend most of the afternoon with the kids. We often times swim or just play on the beach. I usually go for a run about 5:30 pm. It is exactly 3.5 miles all the way around my island. It usually takes me just under 30 minutes to run it. After the run, I kick the shoes off and jump into the ocean to cool off. By this time, it is time to take a shower and get ready for dinner. After dinner, I usually hang out with new friends. Like tonight, I am writing this just before I am going to meet Ziad and the gang for coffee. (He called me while I was typing this.) This could take me well into the night. The other night I was out until 12:30 am with Naseem. It is a different world over here, but we are adjusting to it.

Angie is usually up when I get home (sometimes asleep on the couch.) We spend some time talking about our day and my new friends. Well thats my life. I wish I could write more…. it really is exciting and purposeful.
