“Make It Funny”

Tonight is my night on the computer – we’ll call it my one for the month of March. So now you know who’s making this blog entry! Anyway, Bobby is finishing the task of meeting with teachers for conferences, a process which has gone on until 11pm for two nights in a row. It’s also a process which, in our opinion, could be tweeked just a little, but nobody asked us, so . . . I stay home and get one kid in bed, and the one who’s being conferenced about gets to go to the school with Dad and stay up really late. When I told him I was planning to make a blog entry, he responded with “make it funny”. That was his only suggestion. Have my blogs in the past been downers? I’m new at this you know, and not naturally the funniest one in the family, so sorry if this entry gets you down . . . We did have to say goodbye today to my twin second cousins who came from Dubai to spend a week with us. They were the teenagers who came to lead a community service campaign against litter, which is becoming a serious issue in this country. The girls spoke at two schools on our island and did a super job. We also spent time on the beach, went snorkeling, toured the capital, and watched movies! They are so much fun to be with. One night our neighbor fixed a huge meal with all the traditional island foods and we ate dinner on the terrace of our building. The girls loved being part of the “real island culture.” They were very well-received all over the island. So, something funny . . .let me see . . .my friend Jana sent me a funny forward on “why the chicken crossed the road”. I have no idea how to link it to this blog, so I’ll just have to hope someone sends it to you. It made me laugh. Thanks Jana!
