The Coolest and Quietest Day Yet

How amazing to live so close the equator and go all day and never see the sun. The wind has blown all day, it has been cloudy and rainy most of the day. At one point we turned off the fans in the house. Several of the windows had to be closed because it was raining inside. Other than being trapped inside all day, it was a pretty good day of just being with the family. Busy body Angie had to clean the flat a couple of times to get her fix. We played a 3 or 4 games of Skip Bo and a couple games of Old Maid.We have been unable to wash for the last couple of days because our washer is hooked up to the rain water source. There is another outlet for the washer, so I decided to switch it out and see if it was from another source. Sure enough… unfortunately I could not figure out how to turn the water off to the house, so I had to removed the plug and add a faucet to the outlet… all while there was water pressure. I had to do this same thing when I first installed the faucet to the rain water outlet. Well let me tell you, there is a lot more pressure on this new faucet. When I pulled the plug out, water sprayed everywhere, and I mean everywhere. Kyndal was yelling, “Take cover!” Braden opened the umbrella and got underneath it. Angie was hiding on the other side of the table and I was getting drenched. At one point, I was not sure I was going to be able to get it stopped. As I put the faucet on, it made the water spray further across the room. The kids absolutely loved it. We all had to laugh. It felt like I was there for about 15 minutes, but I am sure it only about a minute. There was water all over our living, dining, and kitchen combo room. It took every towel we had to soak up the mess. This forced us to wash the towels. Remember, I said it rained all day? Yeah, the towels are still hanging in our house trying to dry and not having much luck.Because of the rain, everybody pretty much stayed in. Today was huge contrast to last Friday. Friday is holy day here and everybody is off work. Last Friday the beach was flooded with people, today it was flooded with rain water. The rain kept the outdoor movie theater from playing the world cup games today too. It has been so peaceful.I was playing with Kyndal today and noticed she was really warm. Looks like her fever is not gone yet. We gave her some medicine and she fell asleep. As the evening went on, Angie mentioned she didnt feel so well either. If you read my blog a few days ago, I predicted this. For some reason, I am usually last to get it. Angie has the same rash and beginnings of the fever. I found a small shop that we thought rented DVDs. As it turns out, they only sell them. The good thing is I can buy them cheaper than you can rent them. I bought Superman I, II, and III all on one DVD for $5. I am sure it is a bootleg copy, but they looked good. It had a professional cover and the disc was pressed not burned. I also bought another DVD that had about 5 movies on it. It is not your regular DVD quality, but who could tell on our 21“ TV? We watched Superman I in between soccer games. The rain kept me from running with my new friends today, but I look forward to tomorrows run.
